What happened Capcom? Marvel Vs Capcom series has been awesome from the start, the idea of this two universes coming together to battle was a dream come true for gamers. MVC 2 was the break out of the series with TONS of characters and endless play. And now… We have come to this. I am so disappointed in this game that I was looking so forward to since the announcement. Where did it go wrong?

The first thing we notice when playing the story mode, is that it feels slapped and chopped together. The story just throws you into a word that is falling apart and about to be destroyed be Ultron Sigma (Ultron combine with Sigma to form the villain of the story). This story, voice over and everything about it fails to draw you in. it has way to long wait time in between fights that you start to lose interest in actually playing this game. And then the CGI… Jeez what is wrong with these characters? ALL the male characters have no neck, huge trapezoids that look insanely gross and Popeye looking forearms, for example: Spider-Man is a tall, slim body type, but in MVC Infinity he has a bulky bodybuilder with a gross looking neck. In MVC 3 they did perfectly, so why this change?

These crazy buff body’s just make it like to funny to watch the cut scenes because all we good think about was how can this be? Then the actual controls… God awful, the response time feel like a lag or just not responsive at all. When playing against AI its terrible, When playing against online or other human players its even because the lag/response time is even, but it’s still there, and noticeable. This really needs to be address and patched and fast!

The basic game play and online style is the same as the past games in the series, beat people and rank up. Not much change. The missions are back and if you played MVC 3 then you know how time consuming and almost pointless they are. I feel as a fan of Capcom and Marvel and of the series this was a huge let down, not to mention all the characters that they got rid of in the game and whatnot. Just a complete bummer.

The score of this game is dropped because of all the above mentioned issues and problems. Looking at this game as a fan I tried to look past some of these issues, but others where to frustrating to overlook, the story mode runs about 4-6 hours depending on your skill level. This game banks on the multiplayer aspect to keep players involve. All in all, I would wait for the game to drop in price before picking it up. Sad truth.

Game 2 Gamer’s Final Score : 2.5 / 5
