Switch worldwide sales top 7.63 million, software sales top 27.48 million


Total Switch hardware sales have topped 7.63 million units, and software sales have reached 27.48 million, Nintendo announced in its earnings release for the six months ended September 30, 2017. Hardware sold 2.9 million during the second quarter, and software sold 13.98 million.

3DS hardware sales have reached 68.98 million units, and software sales are at 343.07 million units. Hardware sold 1.91 million during the second quarter, and software sold 7.97 million.

Total Wii U hardware sales are currently at 13.56 million units, and software sales are at 100.85 million units. Sales for the second quarter were not announced.

Nintendo also shared updated numbers for its million sellers across Switch3DS, and Wii U. Here are the top five for each:

Switch

  1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 4.70 million
  2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 4.42 million
  3. Splatoon 2 – 3.61 million
  4. 1-2-Switch – 1.37 million
  5. Arms – 1.35 million

3DS

  1. Pokemon X / Pokemon Y – 16.20 million
  2. Mario Kart 7 – 15.95 million
  3. Pokemon Sun / Pokemon Moon – 15.91 million
  4. Pokemon Omega Ruby / Pokemon Alpha Sapphire – 13.85 million
  5. New Super Mario Bros. 2 – 11.73 million

Wii U

  1. Mario Kart 8 – 8.38 million
  2. New Super Mario Bros. U – 5.73 million
  3. Super Mario 3D World – 5.70 million
  4. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U – 5.26 million
  5. Nintendo Land – 5.18 million

As for the future, Nintendo predicts it will sell 14 million Switch units by March 2018. Switch software is expected to ship 50 million.
