Tidus’ Story Between Final Fantasy X And X-2 Will Be Told In A Mobius Final Fantasy Event
Square Enix kicked off a special collaboration event for Mobius Final Fantasy and the Final Fantasy X games, where we’ll learn what happened to Tidus between Final Fantasy X and X-2.
The above is a look at a trailer for major collaboration event between Mobius Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy X, titled “Dream Within a Dream.”
Those of you might remember Final Fantasy X: Eternal Calm, the cinematic cutscene sequel to Final Fantasy X and prequel to Final Fantasy X-2, which was made available as a bonus DVD with Final Fantasy X International, Unlimited Saga, and the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine.
In Eternal Calm we learned what Yuna was up to after defeating Sin in Final Fantasy X, where she goes sphere hunting with Rikku after seeing an ancient sphere showing someone resembling Tidus jailed in Bevelle.
The Dream Within a Dream collaboration event will tell us Tidus’ side of the story and what he was up to between Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. It’s also worth noting that Mobius Final Fantasy’s director is none other than Motomu Toriyama, and along with producer Yoshinori Kitase, the game has a core cast of developers from the original Final Fantasy X working their respective roles. This also includes lead scenario writer Daisuke Watanabe, so fans of the series can rest assured that it’s in good hands.
Mobius Final Fantasy is available on iPhone and Android. The Dream Within a Dream collaboration event is currently ongoing in the Japanese version, but we’ll likely get it sometime next year in the West.
