Who you gonna call? (Yes, we went there) and Ghostbusters is back with a brand now adventure. The original team member need help and it’s time to bring in the rookies!
The graphics alone are amazing for just being an XBLA game, it looks as if it is a disc based game with the graphics. The single player story mode is fluent and eye pleasing. The gameplay is a basic few controls, if you remember “Smash T.V.” or “Zombie Apocalypse” with the 2 thumbstick motion, left stick to control the movement and the right stick to control what direction to fire in.
The story just about fits in with a could be mini-series/movie. The cut scenes done “comic book” style is a great spin and twist to the gameplay. (hint, shoot everything possible to find the collectibles!) with three different upgrades to use when you battler ghost, each type of ghost has a tint of color to it, Red, Blue and yellow. Each weapon does more damage with the corresponding color to the ghosts. The “ghost trap” is back, and to use it when prompted you pull the right trigger, than push the buttons on the screen to complete to ghost being pulled into the trap.
The problems we found so far was the A.I. in the game, when playing single player and trying to go for the “Hero” achievement (revive teammates 20 times) the A.I. will beat you to the downed teammates before you can get a chance to. Also if you get downed yourself and the A.I. is around the corner it they will not round the corner and you are forced to restart the level.
The online Multiplayer is great and its very easy to find a match, with different levels and getting to attack ghosts from the back of Ecto truck. There is also co-op to play with family and friends.
Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is now available for XBLA, PSN, and PC Download! Representing the first Ghostbusters digital video game title, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is a four player, ghost busting adventure that will take players on a brand new paranormal experience! Players will suit up with their proton packs and assume the role of a rookie hired by the Ghostbusters to save New York City from a disaster of ghoulish proportions in either single player, or cooperative (online or local).
