Sony decided to release Spider-Man and just on the Playstation. In past superhero games we all know they have been lackluster (Minus the Batman Arkham series). The anticipation and small teasers have made the wait of Spider-Man unbearable. But it dropped and it’s worth it!

The story starts off where we see Peter Parker, now a young adult in his own apartment and has a job working with Doc Ock. The story has some of the villains while giving new beginnings to others such as Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and more. This does change to origins of some, but gives us a fresh new take on the Marvel and Spider-Man universe. The story comes together so well that draws you in as if you were playing Uncharted. Playstation has always giving us amazing story driven games with incredible CGI and cut scenes.

The gameplay itself has a been so fine tuned and makes the fighting incredible. There is zero lag, and if you make a mistake, it’s on you, there is no blaming the controls at all. We love that you can use the “spidey sense” as in the Batman games, it’s a defense or parry move. And in the case of this Spider-Man game, it comes in very useful and makes it feel as though you are controlling Spider-Man because of the unique moves the Spider-Man can do. (As seen in the gameplay video below).

Marvel’s Spider-Man has adapted the “RPG” leveling up system, allowing you to upgrade Spider-Man’s abilities and fighting moves. Along with web shooter upgrades and different modes of it. You can learn new moves, new take downs and new abilities that will let you make the game play and style “your own”. Each suit has the option to add to it and has a special ability to it, for example, the Iron Spider suit has the Iron Spider legs that help you while fighting.

While we don’t want to spoil the entire game, we have a 3 hour game play of it below that you can get a feel for the story and the fighting mode of Spider-Man. The game is worth getting and with DLC to add more story missions and more gameplay to it. Well worth the price of the Collectors edition. If you are a fan of Marvel, Spider-Man or comics, this is the game for you.
