The next chapter in The Elder Scrolls saga arrives from Bethesda Game Studios, the makers of the 2006 and 2008 games of the year. Skyrim reimagines and revolutionizes the open-world fantasy epic, bringing to life a complete virtual world open for you to explore any way you choose. The legendary freedom of choice, storytelling, and adventure of The Elder Scrolls is realized like never before.
Bethesda hasn’t disappointed us so would they start now? Hell no, Skyrim is everything we have waited for and more! We got a chance to start playing this since the 28th of October and still can’t put the controller down because it’s just that good.
“Eye popping amazing” – Game 2 Gamer
Write that down because it’s not only true but can barely scratch the surface of what Skyrim has to offer the fans of the series. With an epic story, amazing graphics and a game with endless replay value this is up for game of the year for sure.
The game starts out with you on the back of a wagon with your hands bound with 3 other prisoners and you learn some of the back story to get you caught up on what’s going on in Tamriel. After you reach your destination at Tamriel, you are all forced out of the wagon and once you jump out you get to fully customize your character down to the eyes and the name. Don’t forget that with the Elder Scrolls you also get tons of different races with Nord, Elfs, and more. So as always the customization is never an issue with the games the Bethesda and Elder Scrolls give us.
Once done customizing your character the action starts. You are set to be executed but a strange noise keeps happening until a dragon slams down and interrupts you’re almost beheading and the game begins with you fighting your way to escape and get out of town! As must of Bethesda’s releases you get the choice to swap between 1st person and 3rd person views. This has always been a favorite feature because we like to pick and choose what view we want at what times. And it’s always fun to see the character you created and control. Please note: installing the game to the hard drive will cut load times and lag down very, very much. After doing this you will be good to go.
You get all the great controls of most Bethesda games, with quick weapons to equip is there and used with the D-pad. So if you have a bow and arrow set to your favorites and you are using a shield and sword but want to try picking a few bad guys off you can just use the favorites on the D-pad and start letting arrows fly without having to go into the items menu to equip it. Always handy. The trigger buttons are simple enough, LT is left hand and RT is right hand. Simple. Controls are perfected with no lag at all. Fighting is done amazingly with the easy to learn and use controls. Something enjoyable added to Skyrim is if you attack someone from behind you do like an instant kill where you drive your blade through the enemy.
As you play the game you learn that the dragons that have been long lost in Elder Scrolls have returned and the enter Empire hangs in the balance. As Dragonborn, the prophesized hero born with the power of the voice, you are the only one who can stand and defeat them. Use your skills, perks and magic to make your way to build your character up and gain levels and make that character even tougher. Fast travel is back and so along with it is the wait feature of course. Something worth noticing that seems redefined and tweaked is that your character seems to heal a lot faster after a fight and gives you more of a fighting chance for those new players and users.
Your actions affect your character as well, you can barter and sneak and lock pick as well. But getting caught doing so does have its consequences. If you do a crime and someone witness’ the crime you will get a bounty in that town, but if manage to eliminate all the witness’ the bounty will not take effect. If you don’t and the guards approach you, there is a few choices you have: you can pay off your bounty and avoid jail, resist arrest and fight your way or run to a different town or go to jail and avoid paying the fine. Always fun to stir up some trouble and have some fun! The Elder Scrolls Skyrim has more features then we can list, everything from getting married, smithing, smelting, tanning and cooking. You have more options and choices and more customization than ever.
Bethesda has come through with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and answered the fans and players of the series and long awaited game. Unlike some other gaming companies (we wont name) Bethesda takes pride in the work the release and give the best possible product to us without skimping on the gameplay, graphics and replay value. You will never have the same type of play when going through Skyrim more then once, twice or seven times, it will always be a different game and tons of side missions to never get bored. To this Bethesda, we applaud you.
Game 2 Gamer’s Final Score 5 / 5

Sooo0o0o0o0 shiny…must have!!!! *Drools*
This looks like such an awesome game! To be honest, I have yet to play any of the series, I own some but the hubby played it mostly. Awesome review!
Got this for my son who loaded it up and we both loved the look of the game, he’s hogging it so I can’t comment on game play and controls yet. One stumbling block was after climbing off the wagon the game seemed to freeze, much to the dismay of my son. It must have been an autosave point or something so hope it’s not a regular occurrence.
I like the frustration level you have for the reviews. I’ve never been an rpg fan, but i might have to pick this up since it’s just so popular.
Great review never wanted a game so bad
