Ys VIII localization fix, PC version delayed to early 2018

The localization fix for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will no longer meet its previously set November release window, NIS America announced. It is now planned for release in early 2018. The PC version of Ys VIII has also been delayed to coincide with the release of the fix.

“This is going to come as no surprise to many of you, but after beginning this revision, we have realized that due to the scope of this undertaking, we will unfortunately not be able to release by the end of this month as we had originally intended,” senior associate producer Alan Costa said in an update.

The localization fix includes a revision of the game’s current translation with a new translator, a complete re-edit of the script (voiced and unvoiced) including corrections to item names and descriptions with a new editor, voice re-recording, and debugging of the new build. External feedback will also be incorporated (details on that will be shared in a future update).

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is available now for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
